Rotary Club Seeks Donations for Victims of Hurricane Sandy

The Oakland-Franklin Lakes Rotary Club is partnering with the Woman's Club of Oakland to help the needy this holiday season.

Two local groups are joining forces to bring a little holiday cheer to families in need in our area.

"Hurricane Sandy has caused food banks throughout the state to fall to dangerously low levels," said Oakland-Franklin Lakes Rotary President Peter Kikot, who added that even more anxiety is on families' plates this holiday season because of financial hardships caused by the hurricane.

To help fight back, the Rotary Club is seeking donations of food or cash to support the club's annual Holiday Dinner Delivery.

"Each year the Oakland-Franklin Lakes Rotary Club partners with the Woman’s Club of Oakland to assist in the delivery of complete holiday feasts to local families," Kikot said. "With the coming of the winter months and the recent bad weather, the importance of sufficient food is even more important."
