The tragic tale of a 22-year-old aspiring fashion designer who took her own life by jumping from the George Washington Bridge on Wednesday —allegedly a victim of bullying, according to the NY Post — has attracted widespread attention on social networking sites.

A Fair Lawn man was arrested this week after he allegedly broke into his roommate's secured bedroom, stole his roommate's credit cards and identification, and used them to make fraudulent purchases, police said.

The homes of two borough families were burglarized last week, Paramus Police said Monday. Burglars stole jewelry from both of the homes, along with other personal items. No one was home at the time of both incidents.

Elderly Man Suffers Head Injury in Pedestrian Strike

An elderly man suffered a serious head injury when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Lincoln Avenue Saturday morning, Ridgewood police said.

According to police, the victim was crossing at the intersection of Belair Road when he was hit by a 17-year-old boy driving a Toyota sedan traveling south on Lincoln. The vehicle's windshield was smashed.
