A production company was filming a movie in Oakland Friday, officials confirmed.
The filming was taking place somewhere in the woods of Ramapo Mountain State Park off Skyline Drive.
State DEP spokesman Larry Hajna said he did not know what movie was being filmed, but confirmed that a film company called GGX had a two-day shoot in the park Thursday and Friday.
GGX Productions is reportedly the company making the sequel to The Hunger Games, but it was not immediately clear what title was being filmed in the park. Calls to GGX Productions were not returned Friday afternoon.
Borough officials said the filming did not require permits and could not provide details.
The Hunger Games movies are based on a popular series of young adult books set in a dystopian future by author Suzanne Collins.
The first movie was released last year and reportedly brought in more than $680 million in box office sales.
