have charged a Wyckoff man with attempted murder after he allegedly tried to push two Glen Rock boys in front of a moving train at the Ramsey Main Street train station, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said Tuesday.
David Howard, 48, was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly grabbing two passengers waiting for the train and “moving them towards the train tracks while the train was still moving towards the station,” Gurney said. Howard was charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated assault on a police officer, according to Ramsey Police.
The following day, Ramsey Police released of a man alerting police to the incident.
Wyckoff Police said they used state police records to connect a Wyckoff man already in Bergen County Jail with the 2011 theft of a jeep from a Harvey Court home.

A judge has blocked a non-binding referendumasking if the Bergen County police should be merged into the sheriff’s office, but allowed the freeholder board to move ahead with an ordinance to disband the county police,northjersey.com reported.
Superior Court Judge Menelaos Toskos ruled Friday that the court could not move on an issue before it becomes an ordinance, the report said.
While the merger question won’t appear on the ballot, the freeholders could vote at their Sept. 12 meeting to disband the county police department. County Executive Kathleen Donovan, a supporter of the county police, is all but certain to veto the move.
