Mayor: Power to be Restored Friday at Final Borough Homes

Schwager says programming at the senior center will resume next week.

The Oakland Senior Center is set to re-open on Friday and the borough's mayor told residents in a message Thursday, that only "about 20 homes" remain without power here.

Rockland Electric was on schedule to restore power to the final 20 homes on Friday, Mayor Linda Schwager told Oakland residents.

Here is the message, in full, from Mayor Linda Schwager:

Restoration of Power

Rockland Electric is very close to having electricity restored to the entire community.  Full power would have been restored today if not for a problem created by the Nor’Easter at one of the schools. There are about 20 homes still without power in several locations and we expect that Rockland will connect them tomorrow.
